Andrea Leonardi presented his contribution to the book “Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Cities Indicators, metrics and cases” (UNESCO MIL Alliance), a book edited by Felipe Chibas Ortis, Julio Cesa Suzuki, Rita de Cassia Marques Lima de Castro.

In particular, the paper edited by Andrea Leonardi has as its objective to present  the relationships between MIL City indicators, the innovation management applicable for improving  them and the role of ISO standards on management systems.

It  highlights how each indicator involves a series of different topics, which are interdependent. It shows how these topics are closely related to some of the major ISO standards management systems.

This with particular reference to the ISO 56002 standard for innovation management systems.

The main conclusion of this paper is that ISO 56002 innovation management systems, especially when integrated with other ISO management systems, constitute a powerful facilitating and integrating factor to support the improvement of all MIL City indicators.
